15th (2024) Annual National Conference: Scaling up the Status of Early Childhood Care, Development, and Education in Nigeria: Stakeholders’ Roles




Early Childhood Care, Development, and Education (ECCDE) play an integral role in shaping the future of Nigerian society by fostering the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social growth of young children. Despite significant progress, ECCDE in Nigeria continues to face challenges such as inadequate funding, outdated policies, and a lack of skilled manpower. Addressing these issues requires a concerted effort from all stakeholders, including government, private sector, civil society organizations, educational institutions, researchers, students and communities. Attending our annual conference for this year will give room for all stakeholders within and outside Nigeria to contribute to the scaling up of ECCDE in Nigeria and beyond. Stakeholders would be able to contribute through from the lens of our various sub-themes which are Advocacy and Training, Investment and Financing Manpower Development, Policy and Curriculum, Context-Based Practices, Non-Governmental Organizations and Development Partners, Leadership and Governance Technology and Artificial Intelligence, Research and Data Management, Career Opportunities and Professional Development. Our specific objectives are:

To assess current ECCDE challenges in Nigeria and propose innovative solutions.
To define stakeholders’ specific roles in scaling up ECCDE initiatives.
To establish metrics for evaluating progress and impact.
